Description: Poofy and lofty 2-ply DK to Aran-weight yarn. Perfect for sweaters, shawls, and hats – great for textures! Each ply has different wool content: one ply is bulky, loosely spun Rambouillet, and the other ply is fine, tightly spun Superwash Merino. When plied together, the skinny ply wraps tightly around the bulky one, so it looks a bit bumpy. Not a true boucle by any stretch, just a fun play on words to describe its poofy appearance. But due to this unique structure, this yarn can be knit at a wide range of gauges, and tends to behave similarly to an unspun yarn, without the fragility. The different plies take dye differently, which can give it (depending on the color and concentration) a barber-pole effect.
